Description

This bin made of natural CeraNatur® ceramic is the ideal storage solution for bread. Thanks to the combination of breathable ceramic and antibacterial linen, bread stays fresh and tasty for a long time. Since both materials allow air to circulate and have a moisture-regulating effect, an optimal climate is created for storing bread. Enjoy your home-baked bread for a long time.

The Central Association of German Bakers recommends storing bread in containers made of unglazed ceramics as the open pores of the ceramics absorb excess moisture from the bread and release it again if necessary. Bread stays fresh for a long time and mould doesn't form.

In addition, the association recommends the following storage times for sourdough bread:

  • Wheat bread: up to 2 days
  • Mixed wheat bread: 2 to 4 days
  • Mixed rye bread: 3 to 5 days
  • Rye bread: 4 to 6 days
  • Wholemeal and whole grain bread: 7 to 9 days

Bread dries out faster the colder and drier the room air is. Prevent this by packing your bread in greaseproof paper or a paper bag.

We recommend regularly wiping out the bread crock with vinegar water or cleaning with water, a brush and dish soap and then allowing it to air dry for about two days. You can wash the linen cover at 60°C in the washing machine (do not tumble dry).
